Rovaniemi is the modern capital of Finnish Lapland, located on the Northern Arctic Circle. An easy access to the city is guaranteed by excellent travel connections. Right next to the city lays Ounasvaara, a diverse natural environment for lovers of outdoors. As a city, Rovaniemi is comfortably small-scale, student-friendly, safe and affordable to live in. Sports and cultural activities are available for everyone and student life is active.

Lapland University of Applied Sciences (LUAS) is one of the northernmost educational institutes in the European Union. LUAS offers education for 5 600 students in four different fields of expertise on four different campuses in Rovaniemi, Kemi and Tornio. LUAS has 14 different degree programs of which three are taught in English. In addition a one-year specialisation study program is offered in English in International Business Management. LUAS is specialized in the northern know-how and cold technology.

The School of Natural Resources and Environment is located in Viirinkangas Campus with Tourism Services. The campus is about 1,5 km from the Rovaniemi city center. The School of Natural Resources forms with the School of Technology the field of Industry and Natural Resources (nowadays we are about 15km from the same location where the forestry education started in 1905).

The School of Natural Resources and Environment offers two 4-years Bachelor programs in Forestry and Agronomy and one 1-year Master`s degree Programme in Landscape Management Planning. Multiple courses are offered in English and the school attracts many international students each semester.
